William Dushane founded The Ranch Wrestling Club in 2002 as a means to help create a feeder program for his high school wrestling program at Cinco Ranch High School and remains the Director for the club. Although a young club, The Ranch Wrestling Club already has several distinguished alumni including:
- Jamie Sheets (Texas High School State Champion in 2004 and 2007, 4th in state in 2006, scholarship wrestler at Colorado School of Mines)
- Matt Harris (Texas High School State Champion 2006 and 2007)
- Will McNair (2nd in Texas High School 2006)

- Elected National Wrestling Hall of Fame 2006
- Started Cinco Ranch High School (“CRHS”)Wrestling Program 1999
- CRHS was 5-A State Champions in 2007
- 2 other Top 5 finishes in State ( 4th-2003, 5th 2006)

- 6 District Titles (CRHS has won the past 6 23-5A District Championships)
- Overall Dual meet record (all schools: 309-83-4; At CRHS: 146-53)

Douglas Koger
Our current Club Head Coach Douglas Koger is a USA Wrestling Bronze certified coach. Coach Koger is an attorney who has a civil trial, business transactions, and real estate practice in Sugar Land, Texas. He began wrestling in Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1969 when he was 9 years old. In those days as part of YMCA team he traveled throughout Oklahoma to attend dual meets and tournaments. In high school he moved with his parents to Dallas, Texas where he wrestled with the W.T. White High School wrestling team.
Coach Koger, his wife Nannette and two (2) sons, Cody and Casey joined the club in 2007. Before moving to Katy in January 2007 the Kogers lived in the Meyerland area of Houston and traveled an hour to practice with the Texans Lone Star Rangers in Rosenburg, Texas, where Coach Koger was an assistant coach.
Darrin Barnes, Advanced/Open Group Coach
Darrin Barnes, you can cry in his practice but never quit, joined The Ranch Wrestling Club as a coach in the 2008-2009 season and opened the first Advanced/Open Group practice. Coach Barnes began wrestling in Oklahoma in third grade. Through his wrestling career he won two Jr. High State Championships, qualified twice for the Oklahoma High School State Tournament and earned a fourth place finish in 1988 at the Oklahoma High School State Tournament. During his high school career Coach Barnes was privileged to compete against many notable wrestlers including:
-- Todd Chesbro, 4 time State Champion and son of former OSU head coach Todd Chesbro
-- Pat Smith, 3 time State Champion, Olympic Gold medalist and brother to current OSU head coach John Smith
-- J.J. McGrew, Dirk Rice and Scott Sizemore (all 2 time Oklahoma State Champions)
Coach Barnes wrestled in college at Northeastern A&M in Oklahoma. He is a chemical engineer and lives with his wife Angie and their three children Gage, Cody, and Zoe in Katy, Texas.
